The Obituary

Triston Shawn Jernigan passed away, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and deep love for his family. Born on March 30, 1984, he was the son of Samanthra Hunter and Danny Jernigan.

A 2002 graduate of Baldwin High School, Triston was known for his easy-going nature and the genuine way he connected with others. He was easy to talk to and made those around him feel heard and valued. His passions included music, documentaries, and books—he was an avid reader who never stopped exploring new ideas and perspectives.

Triston's love for his family was unwavering. He cherished his children: Kelsey Renee, Malia Brooke, and Kaiden Bentley Jernigan. They were the pride of his life. He was also deeply connected to his beloved grandmother, Marguerite Williams, whose cooking always brought him comfort and joy.

Throughout his life, Triston held a variety of jobs, but most recently found purpose and fulfillment in his role as a caregiver for an elderly gentleman.

Those who knew Triston will remember him for his calm spirit, intellectual curiosity, and the warmth he shared so freely with others. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

He shared a special bond with Candis Willis, mother of Malia and Kaiden.

Triston Shawn Jernigan's passing is mourned by his parents; grandmother; siblings: Najaah Pearson, Owens Pearson, Lucas Jernigan, Angie Jernigan, and Miles Hunter; uncles and aunts; nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends who will mourn his passing.
