IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Antoine
Tatum
February 12, 1979 – April 4, 2025
I went home on the morning train, so goodbye world." It is with a shout of joy and a grateful heart that I say "see you in the morning" to all those I leave behind. For I knew that if this old earthly body gave out, that I had a building from God, eternal in the heavens, not made by man's hands. I have overcome the world because my faith did not stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God. Thank you, Father, that by your stripes I am healed.
Funeral services for Mr. Antoine Tatum were held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from Cooper Hill Baptist Church with interment in Scott's Chapel Cemetery.
The Obituary
It is with peace of heart that we gather in this most sacred place of the Lord to celebrate the life of a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. We have been blessed to share in his journey upon this earth.
Antoine Jermaine Tatum, the son of Orlando N. Tatum and Evelyn Robinson Tatum, was born on February 12, 1979, in Milledgeville, Georgia. He attended the community's public schools, where he developed a love for history and even toyed with the idea of one day becoming a teacher of the subject. In 1998, Antoine graduated from Baldwin High School.
Among his brothers and sisters, Antoine's sense of humor outshined them all. His wit was quick, and often, after a moment of reflection, the true meaning of his words would hit you like a wrecking ball. He had a nickname for everyone.
All who knew him knew that the only word he had for young Audrey Ray was love. Antoine chose Audrey as his cherished life partner. For the past twenty-two years, they built a beautiful life together. He was a wonderful father, a great provider, a proud coach of his son's baseball team, a true friend, and both Audrey's and his mother's best shopping buddy.
Antoine enjoyed shopping. His mother appreciated that he was an indulgent and patient shopping companion. On his shopping sprees, Antoine always purchased a baseball cap in the colors of his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He was a faithful member of Cooper Hill Baptist Church.
"All is Well"
Antoine J. Tatum had an abiding faith in his Heavenly Father. He drew inner peace from the scripture found in II Kings 4:26, a peace that remained steadfast even in his final days.
On Friday, April 4, 2025, our beloved Antoine Jermaine Tatum went home to be with the Lord. His passing occurred at his home in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Orlando Turrell Tatum.

Tatum; his mother, Evelyn R. Tatum; and his siblings: Chanel T. Austin (Eric), Monica T. Patterson (Steve), Rochelle Weddington (Quadric), Dontac King, Renee Ray, and Qunta Ray (Asia).
